Teaching Patients

On 28th January, 2011 FRIDAY

I reached at doctor's clinic at 9:15p.m. , I was waiting for doctor to call me to his cabin. But it was going to take time as there were few more patients before me. To pass out my time, I was looking around.

After few minutes, a small boy came in with his mom. Boy was looking joyous and was talking a lot. He was doing funny things. He was looking happy. His mom was sitting silently and was looking sleepy. It was easier to figure out who was the patient. Soon, some relative or friend of the lady came in. The relative then asked the lady - why she is here at doctor's clinic, everything alright? The lady’s reply made my guess go wrong. She said she is here for her son. She further said that her son is having high fever 101 degree.

My guess work that lady is ill went wrong. The boy was looking happy, probably because he did not know that he is ill. It made me realize that when we think that we are ill, we stop smiling, stop enjoying life, stop our routine. Negative thoughts control our mind. Only thinking that we are ill, makes us feel ill. Kuch log toh aise expression banate hai ki unko dekh ke apni b tabiyat kharab ho jaye. Yup, I understand that ya, sometime we are so much sick that we have no choice. But I suggest that, atleast, we should try to smile. Not for yourself, but for many smiles associated with us. There are many smiles associated with us say, close friends and family.

Be happy. Keep smiling for self and also for other, atleast for your loved ones.
