Half Filled Glass

Sitting with bigger thirst,
Found only half a glass of water.
Realised life is so unlucky for me,
That I never get what I really need.

Wished I had died before the day,
When floods destroyed the town.
Wished I had died before the day,
When cheaters were wearing the crown.
Wished I had died before the day,
When love became just a noun.
Wished I had died before the day,
When life was letting me down.

Took the ‘half’ filled glass of water,
Was enough to fulfill the thirst,
Was enough to understand the crux.
Life always give what we need,
Just desire without any greed.

If I had died, a day before,
Would have missed how quick the life gets to its track.
If I had died, a day before,
Would have missed the India’s fight back.
If I had died, a day before,
Would have missed the fact that love exists but we resist.
If I had died, a day before,
Would have missed the life to live as an optimist.
