A Boy called Pinky

On the news channel :

Reporter on camera: This building, behind me, is Child Care Maternity Hospital. Last evening, the fire broke out on the third floor of this hospital. But with God’s grace, all the children on that floor were saved. The boy who saved life of 6 children – 4 boys and 2 girls, will soon be given “Bravery Award” by Mayor of the town.

Lady was in her last month of pregnancy, when people predicted “it will be a girl”. Grandmother of the yet-to-born baby had a wish to name the baby as ‘Pinky’. Grandmother died 4 days before the birth of the child. Prediction is prediction, it can go wrong and it went wrong. It was a boy. Considering it as last wish of his grandmother, they gave named this boy as ‘Pinky’. Pinky struggled a lot with his name in whole of his school life. He was the soft target and can easily be teased. When he entered his college days where he introduced himself as Sam to everyone.

Pinky was that guy who rescued 6 children and was called to receive the “Bravery Award”. He was not ready to attend the event, due to fear that his college friend will know that his real name is Pinky. Pinky set a condition that he will be introduced as Sam, to which organizers agreed.

Mr. Shah (Father of rescued child): Last evening, I thought that I will never be able to see my son again. But for this brave boy, who put his own life in danger and saved my son. He saved life of my son – Pinky

Someone from Press: Sir, you named your son as Pinky ?

Mr. Shah: Yes, name of my son is Pinky. You may not know but soon, this name will be a trend and this name will be used for both boys and girls. Infact, all the children rescued are named as Pinky. Anyways, I will call this brave boy on stage to introduce himself and say few words.

Pinky(emotionally touched) begins saying : Hello everyone, I am Pinky………………………

That night, he changed his Twitter and Facebook name from “Rocking Sam” to “Rocking Pinky”

There are many people around us who suffer because of these small-small things. Some people who don’t like to be clicked because they were told that they don’t look good. Some don’t speak much because they feel people will make fun of their stammering or different accent or their voice.  The boy, who won fancy dress competition by acting as Ravan, left the school because he was continuously teased as Ravan for 6 months. Not everyone is lucky like Pinky who got big opportunity to earn respect.
